Brittany
It is one of the region, which has the heavy identity (cultural, geographical) due to its celtic origins.
It is situated between the Channel, the Celtic Sea, the Iroise Sea and the Bay of Biscay.
Concerning the climate, a lot of people say that it is always rainy, but it is not right : it is an oceanic climat. Thanks to or because of the winds and tides, the weather changes a lot.
Brittany is divided in 4 different departments : Côtes d’Amor (where Ploeuc sur Lié is situated), Ile et Vilaine, Morbihan and Finistère.
200 000 people speak Breton, which is not a dialect but a real language. We are proud of our region, as you have certainly understood before. And more and more children and young people are able to speak Breton because there are bilingual schools (French-Breton).
Like, you can see with Ploeuc sur Lié, Brittany really wants to maintain its heritage : urban, maritime, castles, religious.
Britany is known for its :
wonderful landscapes
geology
wildlife
natural parcs
But the most important thing for Brittany is cooking, indeed what will Breton people do without "crêpes*", "galettes**", "far breton***"...
*crêpes are breton pancakes
** galettes are salty crêpes
*** far breton is a breton pudding cake
